Yes. Doors and windows can be installed year round with certain considerations used in the winter months

  • Scheduling: Jobs are scheduled early in the day to ensure work is occurring during the warmest hours of the day and before sunset.
  • Protecting your home: Windows are replaced/installed one room at a time with the door shut. Depending on the size of the room or project, we may build plastic walls to help prevent heat loss. Clients may be asked to adjust their heat settings.
  • Efficiency: Our crew works efficiently to keep openings exposed for as short of time as possible
  • Materials: We used high end silicone caulking that sets within 20 minutes as well as low-expansion cold-rated spray foam.
  • Moisture Control: Installers will check for snow, ice, or condensations in the opening and dry it thoroughly. Flashing tapes designed for cold weather are utilized so adhesives still bond.
  • Expansion & Contraction Allowances: Cold temperatures cause material to contract, our expert installers account for this by leaving correct expansion gaps, using shims properly, and ensuring frames are plumb and square despite temperature effects.
  • Severe weather: our crew is able to work even if it is snowing, re-scheduling would only occur due to a severe snow storm or high winds. If that occurred we would work diligently to try to re-schedule your appointment as soon as possible.
